Being part of the committee conducting the SUTO elections late 2023 as the zone's Pilgrims Coordinator (ZPC), his nomination was not expected, and as such, his election as the successor of the then president, bro Chinazum Ekekeulu as the president of SUTO.Bro Kenneth Okemefule who holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the then UniCross( now University of Uyo), hails from Amaokpara community in Nkwerre LGA of Imo state.

Building on experiences from past leadership positions held, including being the president/leader of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion (EFAC - from 2011-2017) ,bro Kenneth Okemefule is devoted to, under God, move SUTO to a higher pedestal, spiritually and otherwise.

Bro Chris Chinazum Ekekeulu got born again on 21st December 2001. He is a Media Practitioner and hails from Umukalu Asa in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State. He assumed office as the President of Scripture Union Nigeria Township Group Owerri (SUTO) from January 2018 till date

He is happily married to Sis Vivian Chinwe Ekekeulu( nee Oparaku) and their union is presently blessed with a lovely son, Prevail Chimzuruoke Chris Ekekeulu

Unbelievable! Yes, it looked impossible at the election that produced our president-Bro. Uzor Obidike. Just a lad who graduated from the Jesus Youngsters Club very recently, joined and headed the SUTO Band with its rickety items, and rose in spiritual maturity to the glory of God. His election to become President was worrisome, not because people did not love him, but many felt he was too young for such a high premium of office -the President of the Group that ran the crusades that begat many S.U Groups, Zones and Areas, today, especially in the Okigwe Region and beyond.

The Lord had his way and got him elected. Upon his election, Bro Uzor, who hails from Aji, Oru West L.G.A of Imo State did not waste time to jump into action especially, as his injection came at the time the rumours of our imminent election from Township School premises were already established. He immediately constituted a Land Acquisition Committee, otherwise referred to as "SUTO Land Committee", headed by Engr. Emma Ununnakwe, which secured us a land. Subsequently, SUTO Building Committee (SBC) was set up, chaired by Bro. Emeka Uzoho, this Committee delivered this magnificent edifice to the glory of God.

Meanwhile, Bro. Uzor plunged into this project with a child-like passion, he was always at the Fellowship site supervising, supporting and encouraging the workers, even when other members were at their various and different businesses. He spent his personal resources to ensure quality job. As an electrical Engineer, he employed his wealth of experience in the electrical widry involved in the project without charge.

This humble, industrious, loving and open-minded servant worker, Bro. Uzochukwu Obidike, will go down in history as, one of the Scripture Union Nigeria's greatest presidents. Amen!

At the end of Bro. Emeka Uzoho's tenure as president of Township Group Owerri, anybody who knew him well enough was a successful prophet on would succeed Bro. Emeka. George Uzoagba was the succeeded his best friend as the president of the Group.

Bro. George Uzoagba is yes, a professional Medical Lab Scientist, but he is known as "the Doctor". When Bro. George attends to your unhealthy situation, you will go home really satisfied. Not just because he has been on this profession over a long period of time, nor is it just because he read it academically very well, but rather, because the hand of the Lord is upon him.

On his assumption of office as the Township Group Owerri, president of S.U (Nig.), we learnt that a President can also give, give and give. Bro. George Uzoagba does not give because he has the money, but he is proving that God touched his spirit unto the gift.

As President, he renovated our Fellowship Centre at the Township School - a Government-owned school. Bro. George Uzoagba has helped, and has continued to help many brethren in their financial struggles.

Bro. George Uzoagba who hails from Umunoha in the Mbaitoli L.G.A is married to Sister Deborah who herself is currently reading for her PhD, having risen as a Medical Lab Scientist.

A native of Umudim in the Ikeduru L.G.A of the State, Bro. Emeka Uzoho is the son of a retired and Late servant of God. A child of God who believes in working in the Lord's Vinyard. Bro. Emeka Uzoho's leadership understood mobilization and everybody under him aspired to do something for God.

Marrying Sister Chinyere, from the Rivers state, Bro. Emeka Uzoho did not enjoy idleness. A man who loves variety in the worship of God. Bro. Emeka will be greatly remembered for his tireless effort in the construction of this fellowship Centre.

This present family life coordinator for Owerri Central Zone also loves travelling. A businessman to the core, he loves poultry farming, bakery etc. man to be respected -Bro. Emeka Uzoho

Often we make note and advise that when people desire to mention Scripture Union, they should go ahead and say; "Scripture Union"; otherwise, if they just say; "SU" people would naturally think they should go ahead and mention "Anyanwu" also. Why? Bro, Sylvester Anyanwu's abbreviation is "SU".

This Senior Staff of the National Population Office in Owerri, stood out vibrant and wholly dedicated, growing from membership to become the President of this God's centre place of meeting. In his tenure, he drew up measures that helped the group to maximize her financial obligations, both to the Zone, and to the Area respectively. Having married a former member of the Township Group Drama Wing, Sister Chinyere, Bro. S.U Anyanwu was obviously not new in the Group.

He introduced innovations that helped the Group to spring up into action fro greater heights. Very highly inspirational and encouraging, Bro. S.U Anyanwu did not want a "no" for an answer to any duty for the Lord.

He was really open to the Group members and his Exco say joy in working in the Lord's vineyard. Bro. S.U Anyanwu was, sorry, is still a leader that God called him to be, because as the next election after his tenure produced an ideal servant of God, Bro. Emeka Uzoho, Bro. S.U Anyanwu went over to become the President of our newest child, at that time. The Ikenegbu/Aladimma Group.

At the end of the tenure of Archdeacon Chris Ogbugh, the Group did not lack the opportunity of another strong hand to lead the Group. Over time, leadership had been settled in the minds of many Brethren. It was only a matter of who emerges winner after an election. So it was and this teacher born to very amiable parents of Udo Mbaise in the Aboh Mbaise L.G.A of Imo State was elected President, S.U Township Group Owerri.

For example, when God's still-voice whispered to him that his other bone was to be discovered in Warri, in today's Delta State, Emeka did not have doubt.

Today, Bro. Emeka, Sister Charity and all their children did not just travel to settle in the United States of America. They are part of the Founding Leaders of S.U in that region, and more excitedly, the children also pioneered the very first step of a Jesus Youngsters' Club, America, a Group which is making strong waves in the United States.

To show his continued and deep affection with the Group, when he lost his in-law in Warri, he came from America to organize a lot of members in the Group to go for the burial with him. That occasion will remain green in the hearts of many Warri people. He is still in America with his family.

T his great mathematician, who hails from Umuahia in Abia State, was elected President when he was a lecturer at the state Polytechnic in Nekede.

Bro. Chris Ogbugh was not just humble, he was a naturally cool man, but when the Brethren noticed the giant's steps he was making in the spirit, they could not be deceived by his quiet steps. A Bible Study Teacher to the core, a no-nonsense child of God who was so mathematically organized that the group level of togetherness was sure in his leadership.

An engineer by profession who read at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, his election as President of the S.U (Nig.) Township Group Owerri, was a glamour to the Brethren.

Obioma Okere's administration as Leader/President of Township Group Owerri, marked a steady growth to the Fellowship. Though he did not find joy in over stretched meetings, yet he had very successful sessions. Obioma Okere's faith in the Lord was already put in the cross, way back in Benin, from where he transferred to Owerri, after his wedding w his Anambra State born wife, Sis Victoria okere. Bro. Engr. Obioma Okere and wife are blessed with children, all of whom are sound Christians brought up in the Jesus Youngsters' Club of the Group.

The election that lifted Bro. Mba Ukwa, saw a very loyal and humble S.U product who was an officer in the Nigerian Prisons Services, Owerri. It was not possible to know if Bro Mba Ukwa understood any other language or dialect except English Language and Ohafia, his home language.

A true S.U fellow who did not allow his simple way of life roll away from him. Bro. Mba Ukwa was not a man of many words but his Exco meetings revealed a man who discussed with the Lord before each encounter. His first wife, Sister Nma Ukwa ran into a poor health situation that took her to the hospital at Emekuku where she slept in the Lord.

The Rev. Joe Inyama, who has gone to be with the Lord, hailed from Akpodim in the present day Ezinihitte Mbaise L.G.A. He was a business man who rose to own a supermarket. A man who understood life as it is offered by the Lord and so did not waste his precious time on frivolities. Humble, very sincere, his "YES" was never found to be "No".

Married to a very humble and dutiful sister Jo Inyama, they had children whom they raised without wing to pressures. He later became a minister with the First Baptist Church, and enrolled in the Anglican Communion, till he was called home to be with the Lord.
